Illovo rallies to the cause
A great piece of sharing our hearts and minds with those less fortunate - who lost loved ones, homes and personal property in the recent KZN floods. Thanks to an overall Illovo sponsorship, we were able to purchase and distribute 333 blankets through Zero2Five to many needy community members:
- 53 blankets went with water and food parcels into affected households in Nt’Shongweni;
- 180 blankets with water and food parcels were distributed in Bergville, uThukela – please see the following Facebook link
- 100 blankets will be distributed in Ilembe / Asheville community
Illovo also provided 117 blankets to St Monica’s Childrens Home in Oceanview – that donation came from a few Illovo staff who donated generously in their personal capacity. And finally, in a short-while we will also be providing relief aid to Yellowwood Park Civic Hall (South of Durban) which is housing many people who have lost their homes.
A massive thank you to all who made this possible – including some tireless Illovo “relief-workers”.
